Erica Wilson was a renowned needleworker who used only the best tools for the job. Here at the Erica Wilson store, we make sure her expertise lives on by only selling the best of the best when it comes to needlework accessories. That includes fiber. Whether you are an experienced needleworker or you want to start your cross stitch journey, we have the threads you need to create beautiful needlepoint designs.

Erica Wilson collaborates with several thread companies, meaning you can find a wide range of fibers here. What you choose depends on the outcome you are looking for in your needlepoint yarns. You might need durability, or you might prefer a more delicate, smooth finish. The type of needlepoint thread will determine how your work turns out.

The Pepper Pot thread sold here is made up of 100% silk and works on an 18 canvas mesh. While this silk needlepoint thread may not be as durable as other materials, such as Persian wool, it creates a beautiful sheen finish that’s perfect for intricate details on materials such as cotton silk. Use this silk thread with a laying tool for better thread management.

For utter durability, you might prefer the Vineyard Merino. It is made of 100% Merino wool and works well on 18 mesh. Wool is generally considered the strongest material for stitching – more so than cotton thread. The puffing effect of the wool is also handy for covering the entirety of the canvas. If you want to stitch onto an item that will get used often, such as a child’s pillow, wool is a strong choice.

If you want to liven up your canvas, you might choose a novelty thread by Rainbow Gallery. These are made of silk, rayon, and metalized polyester and produce a sparkly effect. Rainbow Gallery also does fluffy-textured fibers. These are more exciting threads that are often used in collaboration with other thread types.

Choosing your colors can be a little tricker when shopping online. If you wish to order online, keep in mind that the colors won’t look exactly how they do on your screen – shades vary depending on light and color settings.

Luckily, here at Erica Wilson, we have a fabulous range of colors, ranging from bright pinks to soft hues of blue. You are sure to find the color you are looking for, and the colors from the same dye lot will always stay the same. If you need an extra hand figuring out which colors are right, do not hesitate to get in touch.

The fibers sold here at Erica Wilson should glide through your needlework canvas. Then, the strands threaded should bring life to your work. If you are new to needlepoint and require guidance, Erica Wilson also sells an excellent range of needlepoint canvases which include instructions on how to work your needlework threads.

Shop at Erica Wilson for high-quality fibers and needlepoint thread to produce your own incredible work. Or, start your needlepoint journey and create something iconic with one of the Nantucket-inspired canvas designs.
